Webcam software detects activity, sounds siren, captures snapshots, records video, and sends captured images by email

Webcam software detects activity, triggers
alarm, captures images, records video, and sends captured images by e-mail

Webcam software identifies movement, sounds alarm, captures images, records video, and sends captured images by e-mail
Webcams
are not bad for more than just making internet communications
more realistic. They can additionally be
an awfully functional device
for exploit in house or firm security.

Software

is now accessible that can identify activity and use
it as a trigger for various events.

The way that
it works is to analyze the image sent by a webcam that is either connected via USB
or using a video capture card for motion. When it picks up
that motion, it can after that acquire any number of procedures,
including triggering an alarm.

An other popular software, though, is to either
send live shots of what is happening in the picture that is covered by the webcam
or to even webcast through online broadcasting accurately what is
happening with both audio and picture. If installed stealthily,
this software could even be used for clandestine surveillance.

Given the
large quantity of systems that either have a web camera connected
or can support one, this is an excellent way to inexpensively and easily protect
the region around that computer
from infringement or burglary.

Broadcasting live video and sound from capture card
via web camera computer software

Streaming online video and audio from capture device via web camera computer software

Security application

If you find yourself with a need to record security video with a webcam over an area,

web camera
computer software

may be the right choice for you. Using this software, it is possible to set up a
camera to detect movement and begin recording once it does.

Depending on your needs, the sights and sounds that are picked up by the camera may be stored on a hard drive, or if the captured video
needs to be available off-site, can be webcast using the server's broadcasting
feature to a website.

Depending on the quality of the camera and the viewer's video card, the picture that is recorded may be as clear as a high-definition tv signal.
Using a setup like this, it is possible to provide a measure of protection for an area while
the economics of the situation do not justify hiring a security business or setting up a professional monitoring system.

This

do-it-yourself approach

can save money while not compromising on protection.

Modern professional surveillance application works with
any web camera, IP cameras, and major capture cards.

Webcam software detects activity, triggers siren, captures images, records video, and sends captured images by e-mail

Surveillance software

has become so difficult that the average
businessman who has been busy minding his office instead of pouring over electronics and ip
technology articles can be easily overwhelmed when it comes time to install or update his surveillance system.

Fortunately, there is modern professional security application that simplifies much of the decision making.
You don't necessarily have to get rid of a working analog CCTV system in order to modernize to a broadcasting
video that can be monitored from any online connected pc or 3G phone. Video capture cards can digitally convert the
snapshots for broadcast. Until recently, there had been no real attempts to regulate the new IP
cameras; every make and manufacturer functioned a tiny differently. And when you connect web cameras into the
mix, using one software to rule them all was unwieldy.

Professional surveillance application

is now available that will work for any web camera
or IP camera and for most capture cards as well. You can supervise anything your motion
detectors are picking up at your house or firm while you can be half a world away.
The software itself may not be simple, but it can make life simpler for you.

Tips: How to Overlock T-Mobile G2/ HTC Desire Z to 1.9 GHz Using G2-Fast Kernel

How to Overlock T-Mobile G2/ HTC Desire Z to 1.9 GHz

You are allowed to turbo charge your HTC Desire Z or T-Mobile G2 to the super 1.9GHz. Can you believe it? Why not? It has been used G2-Fast Kernel to help you doing that task. Thanks to the senior XDA member and developer Flippy 125 who lets us know that the kernel is something stable and is not frying any phones.

The G2-Fast Kernel is actually based on collbho3k’s original source, and you might have ever heard that it is the credit for kernel hosting foes to Cyanogen. Mostly important, the kernel is not only boosted up to 1GHz, but the developer would blow it to 2.0 GHz. It’s awesome, isn’t it?

Even the kernel will be featured by Wi-Fi driver and would be compatible with T-Mobile G2 that is running Bacon Bits from Cyanogen.

Do you need to know what Flippy 125 said about this kernel? Read on these words and you can click on the download link directly from the page.

It’s clocked in at 1.9 Ghz and gets scored of 2700+ in Quadrant. I am not supplying an update.zip so people new to android don’t fry their phones and blame me. SETCPU FAILSAFE AND OTHER PROFILES ARE A MUST!
Special thanks to coolbho3k for the original source and Cyanogen for hosting the kernel source.
This was made using the default config file (may change later). I added these likes to acpu(not including the tables):

Code:

Next Generation NVIDIA Dual-Core Mobile Chipset on Performance Test

NVIDIA has good reputation in making PC display card as well as mobile devices. Now the next generation Tegra 2 dual-core mobile chipsets is up beating up today’s fastest single-core applications. A demo video on the Tegra 2 dual-core mobile chipsets performance is published, so for those who are not very convinced, go better check it out.

The demo video shows highlight the raw number-crunching capabilities of a dual-core ARM Cortex A9 (the processor used in the Tegra 2 chipset) as it opens pre-cached web pages. The result is just great, it’s A9 dual-core processor boost it up.

After seeing the demo you probably want this great chipset to be powering up your Android devices. The video demo also shows opening few websites while playing music all at the same time just to show it’s processing power.

The Tegra 2 chipset, ruling out any network lag/speed variables that you never seen before. The result is the Tegra 2 chipset finish it all in 41 seconds. The seconds is quite fast comparing to the single-core processor. In a test, the single-core processor took 56 seconds to load all the web. It is not embarrassing though since it is still fast.

HTC Knight and Shift 4G is Might be Basically the Same Device

HTC Knight / Shift 4G release date

HTC, a productive Android phone manufacturer has announced their HTC Knight released date. Having a release date officially announced, unfortunately we do not have much information about the device. However, recently some rumors are up bringing another new HTC device that is called the HTC Shift 4G and it turns out that both are probably the same device according the latest information.

The information about the new HTC Shift 4G is quite well obtained like it’s size that is smaller than the EVO 4G and will be equipped with WiMAX radios. Not to mention it’s physical QWERTY keyboard. Sadly this slide out QWERTY keyboard phone is not equipped with front-facing video call camera that is brought by it’s siblings the EVO 4G and Epic 4G.

Unlike the rumored HTC Knight, the HTC shift 4G has not set it released time. However, the first leak data obtained tells that the device will be launched on Q1 next year, January 6 to be exact. Cannot wait to get your hand on this great connection device?

T-Mobile MyTouch 4G Vs Samsung Epic 4G Review

T-Mobile MyTouch 4G Vs Samsung Epic 4G
Samsung Epic 4G

It shouldn’t be a long introduction since either T-Mobile MyTouch 4G or Samsung Epic 4G is new on our eyes. It’s unimportant to explain each phone’s details because this is a comparison post to get the phone that performs better than the counterpart. Let’s read on below.

Connectivity
The MyTouch 4G is a GSM phone, and it seems normal to find 3G network with HSDPA and HSUPA technology within. Add to that, the Wi-Fi with DLNA, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, and microUSB 2.0 are sported as the usual high-end smartphones out there on the market. We can see a lot differences on the Epic 4G for the connectivity features since it is a CDMA phone that comes with Rev. A up to 3.1 Mbps technology, Wi-Fi with WiMAX, Bluetooth with A2DP, and microUSB 2.0. No matter with the two phones technologies, the most important topic is that both phones are shared the same qualities of connectivity.

Size & Weight
The MyTouch 4G measures 121.9 x 55.9 x 10.9 mm and weighs in at 141.8 g, while the Samsung Epic 4G measures 124 x 65 x 14 mm and weighs in at 155 g.

Camera
It can be said that both phones arrive at the same quality for the camera specification with 5 MP, 2592 x 1944 pixels, autofocus and LED flash inside. However, the MyTouch 4G only offers geo-tagging for the camera feature, while the Epic 4G wins the comparison for its geo-tagging, touch-focus, face and smile detection abilities.

As for video capturing, the MyTouch 4G offers 720p capability, just like the Epic 4G. In addition, both phones give the VGA videocall camera.

T-Mobile MyTouch 4G Vs Samsung Epic 4G Review
T-Mobile MyTouch 4G

Display
Getting the best screen performance can be included into our consideration, for having good experience while browsing or having text messaging is defined by the quality of the phone’s screen. It would be enjoyable to use the high resolution display like the Epic 4G offers with the Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen and 16M colors. In addition the screen features 480 x 800 pixels and measures 4.0 inches. The Gorilla Glass display, TouchWiz 3.0 UI, Multi-touch input method, Accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, Touch-sensitive controls, Proximity sensor for auto turn-off, and Swype text input are great and can be kind of big points for the Epic 4G value.

On the other hand, the MyTouch 4G only gives us the TFT capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors and features 480 x 800 pixels only. The display itself measures 3.8 inches only and sports Accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, Optical trackpad, and Swype input method.

What will you conclude? The Epic 4G’s display is much better than that the MyTouch 4G’s.

Performance
The MyTouch 4G comes with the latest Android 2.2 (Froyo), while the Epic 4G offers the Android 2.1 (Eclair). It might be caused by the Epic 4G has been released several month earlier when the Eclair was still something new and fresh. For the hardware performance, T-Mobile MyTouch 4G is much faster with Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 1 GHz processor and 768MB of RAM, while the Epic 4G gets the old ARM Cortex A8 1GHz processor with 512 MB of RAM.

Storage
The MyTouch 4G gives us 4 GB internal storage, while its card slot is possible to be inserted a 32GB and 8 GB external memory capacity. On the other side, the Epic 4G offers a bit lower internal memory with 512 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM. The external memory can be filled with 32 GB capacity only. Thus, the MyTouch takes the storage competition over.

Battery Life

As for battery life the MyTouch 4G comes with 432 hours of standby time and 10 hours of talk time, while the Epic 4G hasn’t confirmed its battery life anyway. However, we can still conclude that the Epic 4G gives us a bit longer battery life, for it has Li-Ion 1500 mAh, while the MyTouch 4G comes with Li-Ion 1400 mAh only.

Conclusion
myTouch 4G sports more powerful processor, bigger RAM and combined with the latest Android 2.2 (Froyo). You will get faster and smoother performance with this phone. However, you cannot take the display point aside, for the display donates a huge value for the Epic 4G.

Palm Pre 2 available in the UK on the 15th of November.

November 12, 2010 at 5:07 pm by James | In Mobile News Palm announced today that the newest version of their Palm Pre will be available to purchase sim free on the 15th of November. This will coincide with the latest update to their webOS software which will also be available to current pre owners within the next few months.

The original Palm Pre received vast amounts of hype long before the handset had even been seen. Pre-release (pun alert!) rumours suggested heavily that this device would be the iphone killer. Disappointingly for palm, the Pre fell far short of it’s predicted rise to supremacy. According to research released by Gartner ealier this week, Palm’s WebOS accounts for less then 1% of the market share. This may not be so surprising when you consider how many of your friends own a Pre as opposed to say a blackberry or android device.

Unsurprisingly the rumours around the palm pre 2 haven’t created much excitement, and with Windows re-launching their mobile OS Windows 7, the portable device market is becoming more competitive then ever. So the question you may be asking yourself is, “Why should I get excited about the new Pre?”

Well, you may be right not to throw away your Desire HD in anticipation quite yet; however you may want to keep an eye on this new device. Even with the unsuccessful launch of the palm pre many industry insiders still rate the handset as a great device running a stable user friendly OS. Back in April Palm was acquired by HP who is no stranger to the mobile market. Brian Humphries, HP’s Senior VP of Strategy and Corporate Development, is quoted as saying that HP plans to “double down on webOS,” and confirming “that was the whole point” of the acquisition. With this massive investment from one of the worlds largest PC manufacturers the Pre may yet find it’s place in the world.

Considering HP only took control of the reigns from April, it’s fairly safe to assume the Pre 2 will largely be based on Palms original plans for the device, however the improvements to the new handset and webOS should indicate which direction HP are intending to take their new product. The main improvements worth highlighting are support for both HTML5 and Flash which will put a smile on the faces those who criticise the iphone for not doing so.

The Pre will be available to purchase sim free and will be available directly from the palm website on the 15th of November. It’s unclear which networks will carry the handset at the moment however what is clear is that Plam haven’t given up on their flagship device yet.

We’ll keep a  close eye on this handset and will be posting any updates so keep checking the Mobiles.co.uk blog.

Ipad 2 may go head to head with Blackberry PlayBook.

November 19, 2010 at 2:31 pm by James | In Mobile News

The Apple iPad is undeniably a hit, although many of us were unsure of what they needed it for it’s fair to say we all want one. The ipad is seen as the benchmark for what tablet computers should deliver but, it was still missing some key features when it was released back in April. Some features such as Multitasking should be debuting with Apple’s IOS 4.2 update which should be available imminently. Some features like a camera will require a hardware update, and these updates may appear quicker then expected.

Based on Apple’s yearly release schedule of their iPhone and iPod touch range we had expected a similar approach with the iPad. An April 2011 release would be far from surprising however leaked stories surrounding the new iPad would suggest the a new model will be released within Q1 of 2011.

9to5mac highlighted that Apple had hired David Sims, a British photographer to shoot an ad for the new iPad. It was highlighted however that the original iPads were used in the shoot and suggested that they would be swapped for a new version in post production. This is fairly weak evidence to be honest but more fuel has been added to the fire today by Digitimes.

Digitimes have reported that a selection of Taiwanese manufactures, after recently becoming certified by Apple will be shipping small quantities of components that will be used in the new iPad. They will ship these components during December leading industry analysts to expect a consumer launch in Q1 of 2011.

Appleinsider also went on record in October saying that Apple were going to become much more aggressive with their facetime product and that Apple would be introducing an Ipad no later then Q1 of 2011. This would keep the iPad aligned with Apple’s face time strategy.

The rumours as you can see are building with an early 2011 release looking ever more likely. This could be bad news for Apple competitors when the likes of Samsung and Blackberry are only just releasing their first tablet computer.

The Blackberry Playbook is getting a large amount of attention especially from the business market due to it’s server integration and encryption technology, however they clearly see Apple’s current iPad as their biggest contender. A video released this week from Blackberry showcasing the Playbook’s web browser is directly compared to that of the iPad.

As the Playbook is due for launch during Q2 of 2011 Blackberry may have found that they were targeting the wrong product if the iPad 2 is released a few months before the Playbook.

Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and keep checking the mobiles.co.uk blog for any new developments.

The PSP Phone is Real?

October 28, 2010 at 10:30 am by Mark | In Coming Soon Handsets, Just For Fun, Mobile News, New Mobile Phones

A PSP Phone is something that has long been talked about and rumoured; the closest we’ve come to seeing anything close to a fully fledged ‘Playstation Phone’ was the Sony Ericsson Aino, with it’s Remote Play functions which unfortunately, were nothing more than media sharing capabilities. Well, Sony Ericsson have seemingly decided to have another stab at it and would appear that this is the PlayStation Phone we’ve all been waiting for and have seen rumoured so many times before.

The PSP Phone very much resembles the PSP Go with it’s slide-out controls; including the obligatory square, circle, triangle and cross buttons, a D-Pad, what appears to be two optical trackpads replacing what would normally be the analogue sticks, shoulder triggers and the Start/Select buttons.

Where this starts to get really interesting though, is when we look at the phone aspect of this device, if the images are to be believed, it’s running Android albeit with a customised Sony skin on top. We can see the four obligatory Android hardware keys (Home, Menu, Back and Search) sitting just below the screen as well as a lock screen which will be familiar to anyone that has used a vanilla Android 2.2 device. Other features include a camera and LED flash on the back and a front-facing camera too.

Although, we’re still not 100% convinced by this, it’s either a fake or very early prototype; notice the lack of PlayStation branding, a mysterious ‘S’ in the centre of the controls and even more strangely, on-screen references to ‘A’ and ‘B’ buttons for Enter and Back. We really do hope this is the real deal and is simply an early prototype but let us know your thoughts in the comments section below. (Source: ElectricPig)

Facebook shares more services on your mobile and adds SMS to the website.

November 17, 2010 at 1:11 pm by James | In Mobile News

Facebook held their “Mobile Event” yesterday which had many a wild rumour running around the internet, and in this instance some of the rumours were right.

Facebook announced an update to their messaging service, as speculated Facebook will be offering an e-mail client which some are saying will be a Gmail killer. Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg explained however that although e-mail is currently the chosen way of communicating via the internet, he didn’t expect e-mail would be so dominant in the future.

Results from a teenage focus group highlighted that Live chat and SMS were the preferred ways of messaging due to the instantaneous delivery and response you can expect. Facebook’s new approach is actually combining as many messaging portals as possible to become a hub for your communication. In the very near future you will be able to send text messages directly to your friends via facebook. They will be able to reply directly from their phone to your facbook inbox and a record of the conversation will be saved on your account. For more details regarding the new messaging systems check out Facebooks help pages

Other announcements stated that Facebook places will be coming to both Android and blackberry with an update to their respective apps. The android application will now support the galaxy tab to the frustration of many ipad users who are still waiting for a dedicated application. When Mark Zuckerberg was quizzed on whether or not the application was being developed for the ipad his response was “The ipad is not a mobile device”. Many may disagree with this point of view, however as Facebook currently only develop applications for mobile devices ipad owners will have to use the website or use the iphone app and it’s pixelated icons for now.

Sony Ericsson X12 Outed And Demo’d - Unofficially Of Course

November 18, 2010 at 12:17 pm by Mark | In Coming Soon Handsets, Mobile Phones, New Mobile Phones

It’s been much rumoured and a long time coming, but it seems Sony Ericsson’s flagship X10 is about to be knocked from it’s top spot by this, the Sony Ericsson (X12) Anzu. True to form, Sony Ericsson have stuck with the Japanese/Spiritually themed names (Yari, Sprio, Aino, Satio - you get the picture) with the meaning of Anzu seemingly pointing towards being a God from Akkadian Mythology who breathes both fire and water and has the head of a lion and the body of an Eagle. Mythology lesson aside, the literal meaning of ‘Anzu’ in Japanese is an Apricot; which isn’t really going to tell us much about this phone.

So lets take a look at what we do know; the Anzu is said to be running Android 2.2 FroYo upon release (although currently running 2.1 Eclair) with an update to GingerBread 3.0 in Summer ‘11. It is also said to house an 800 MHz processor, a 4.3? WVGA ‘X.LED’ screen (multi-touch support included this time!) Wi-Fi , an HDMI port and a standard 3.5mm jack.

It’s also reported that the X12 will be between 8.7mm and 10.9mm thick as well as the inclusion of an impressive 1500 mAH battery. In the camera department, we’re told that the fire breathing, lion headed Anzu will be sporting either a 12 megapixel or 8.1 megapixel camera (more likely the latter in our opinion) and will be capable of recording in 720p HD quality. What do you think, has the Anzu got you interested? Can the Anzu compete the with Desire HDs and iPhones of this world? Let us know in the comments section below.

Dual Core technology lands on a Samsung Handset.

November 15, 2010 at 4:46 pm by James | In Mobile News

When Samsung released their Galaxy S back in June, the manufacturer started to show it’s investment in the Android operating system. Until this point Samsung’s range of Android handsets were seriously lacking in the hardware department. With the arrival of the Galaxy S Samsung had a product that held it’s own against the iphone 4 or the HTC Desire.

Samsung cemented their support for Android earlier this month with the launch of the first Tablet to seriously rival the ipad. The Galaxy Tab is another device from Samsung to employ Android rather then Samsung’s own Bada OS for it’s operating system. Samsung have predicted 1 million sales of the Galaxy Tab before the end of the year illustrating their faith in the Android OS.

Today Eldar Murtazin (well known for getting his hands on prototypes) tweeted that he is testing the Galaxy 2, most importantly highlighting it’s Dual Core technology. The integration of dual core processors revolutionised the world of both PCs and Apple Macs. Here at mobiles.co.uk we’re hoping that dual core technology will do the same for the world of mobiles.

Samsung will be expected to make some big announcements at the Mobile World Congress early next year so expect to see the Galaxy S2 aka the i9100 confirmed there.

Any further development’s will be posted right here at the mobiles.co.uk blog.

November 18, 2010 at 5:37 pm by James | In Mobile News

How much pocket money did you get as a child ? 50p, £1.00 or maybe more? With the imminent increase in V.A.T. and ever rising inflation it may not come as much of a surprise that the average child in the UK could expect £6.24 per week in pocket money. You may consider this to be a fair amount, considering that penny sweets are rarely a penny these days.

With these prices in mind it would be fair to say, the penny doesn’t stretch as far as it used to. Or does it? We know it’s not cool to blow our own trumpet here at mobiles.co.uk but we’ve released a deal today that just needed to be shouted about.

For 19p you are able to buy the LG GS101 on pay as you go. So with 20p you can get yourself a fully working mobile phone and get 1p change!

The LG for less then 20p The LG for less then 20p

So what’s the catch? Well, you’ll need to buy this with a £10 top up, but that gives you £10 credit and we’re sure you’ll want to be able to use the handset once you’ve received it. And that’s it! So for 19p you’ll get a handset perfect as a backup or maybe a first phone for the kids.

Let’s face it for 19p you can’t go wrong! Any more amazing offers like this and we’ll be sure to let you know right here on the blog.

The LG-03C camera phone or phone camera?

November 8, 2010 at 1:59 pm by James | In Mobile Content/Services, Mobile News

Images have surfaced today of a new handset from LG that offers a fully functional 3 x optical zoom. This combined with a 12 megapixel CCD sensor may have the likes of Sony Ericsson and Nokia worried.

producing handsets which offer a realistic alternative to compact cameras. Last year Samsung announced the W880, a 12mp camera phone with a 3 x optical zoom. It appears that LG have also decided to reassess their strategy and are looking at other features which can help to strengthen their range of camera phones.

Ask any photographer which element is more important - quality of the lens or megapixels? The response 9 times out of 10 will be quality of the lens. The LG L-03C is shown as using a Pentax 1:3.6-5.5 lens. This quality of lens should yield significantly improved images then those taken on competing camera phones. This combined with the design and high quality finish should go a long way when appealing to the consumer.

However, this isn’t the first handset to offer a high quality optical zoom. Samsung have trialed optical zooms in the past. The G800 released back in 2007 also boasted a 3 x optical zoom with a 5mp camera.
